The video below surfaced online and it is hard to watch. It allegedly shows former daycare workers of Lil’ Blessings Child Care & Learning Center using a scary mask similar to the one in the “Scream” movies to intentionally scare young children.
In the video, the workers can be seen chasing and grabbing a toddler, and the children can be heard crying for their mommies as workers terrorized the kids yelling at children who didn’t “clean up” or “act good.”
These workers are now being charged with three counts of felony child abuse; Sierra McCandless, 21; Oci-Anna Kilburn, 28; Jennifer Newman, 25, and Misty Shyenne Mills,, 28. Traci Hutson, 44, faces charges of failure to report abuse by a mandatory reporter and simple assault against a minor
The owner, Sheila Sanders hasn’t been charged but stated “I wasn’t here at the time. I wasn’t aware that they were doing that, and I don’t condone that and never have,” and that “I just wanted to say that it’s been taken care of.”
While it is still unclear what exactly occurred at the daycare center, it is clear that these workers used extreme tactics to scare young children. This type of behavior is completely inexcusable, and these workers should be held accountable for their actions.
This is absolutely unacceptable behavior for anyone working with young children. This video is a prime example of why it’s so important to vet your daycare carefully and make sure that the staff are qualified and have a good history. No parent should have to worry about their child being mistreated while in daycare.
If you are a parent who is looking for a daycare, be sure to do your research and choose a facility that you can trust. Your child’s safety and well-being should always be your top priority.
Should the daycare center also be held liable, as they potentially failed to properly supervise their employees? Parents who entrust their children to this daycare center deserve to know that their children will be safe and protected. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
